Rescued with Love

November 2008 this sweet boi showed up under my car surrounded by barking ranch dogs in Taos, NM.  Our lives changed forever on that beautiful day.  Koto has been by my side for 16 years and 8 months since that fateful day and will forever be in my heart. He is my soul dog and has taught me so many life lessons without ever saying a word. He has experienced an amazing life 

filled with love, adventure & friends and he has been a source of inspiration and hope to those facing life challenges.

 In 2022, I was witness to his unstoppable determination to keep moving and his warrior spirit to live life with joy along with his ability to accept his mobility issues with grace. 2023 was the year to walk & roll and we participated in the monthly walks to raise funds for the kids of St. Jude. Koto also made it to the finals that year  for America's Favorite Pet! 

 I left my work in 2024 to be his full time caretaker and we spent the summer, fall & winter 2025 traveling cross country.

Founded in 2023, koto.love started as a way to connect with others who might be dealing with similar senior issues and to exchange knowledge and information.  Koto had an unwavering will to be active and that is where our fundraising for 

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital began and where Koto's plushie was born. At koto.love, our mission is to provide insight and inspiration to those facing similar challenges. An online store was created to honor Koto and his homeland with the beloved Zia heart symbol.  The Zia is New Mexico's state flag and goes back to 13th century Zia Pueblo.  4 is a sacred number and the rays emanating from center are four directions North, South, East & West, four seasons Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter, four stages of life Infancy, Adolescence, Aduthood & Elder, four aspects of life Heart, Mind, Body & Spirit and our heart center is the universal symbol of love. 

We believe that all pets are part of the family, seniors are vital and deserve the best care possible with access to support during trying times.

We have created a program to help pets with mobility issues have access to wheels on loan. For a small donation, pet families can borrow wheels up to 4 months at a time.  The wheels are lovingly cared for and kept at Rob & Charlie's Bicycle Shop in Santa Fe, NM. You can send a request thru email or order directly online at our shop. 

We have wheels of all sizes, strollers, ramps & stairs. We do accept donations of wheels into our program and your donated wheels will have a custom license plate with your pet's name in honor of your beloved.

In 2024, Koto's plushie was created to continue raising funds for St. Jude CRH and also for our Warrior Wheels Project.  We have them available online for purchase thru the website and separated by their identifying pins Koto & Koto.Love.

Our donations go into a savings fund for our local vet to help pet families in need of emergency vet care when they might be  short on funds.
